How does the curriculum work?
Based on the six subject group structure of the IB Diploma, the Pre-IB gives students an understanding of what is expected and the knowledge they need during IB studies. The curriculum is designed to provide access to the IB for students coming from a range of educational environments. It aims to acclimatize students to the philosophy of the IB, which demands independent thought and study skills and prepare students for the specialist academic subject areas.
The focus of the program changes as the course progresses, moving from more concentration on general skills and English ability early in the course to more concentration on specialist subjects towards the end.
