Germany welcomes the latest Holiday on Ice show as it tours stadiums across the country, stopping at Munich's Olympiahalle, among others. Featuring a new theme every year, the shows have proved a huge success.

Around 10,000 inline skaters roll through the streets during the  Munich Blade Night, held every Monday night. There are five routes to choose from, each beginning from Am Bavariapark. You can hire skates, helmets and safety pads from the organisers.

Munich's Leopoldstrasse and Ludwigstrasse, normally busy with motorised traffic, are car-free zones for the weekend of the Streetlife Festival. Around 250,000 gather to walk, talk, listen to music and talks and dance in the streets. There's plenty of good food too.

The Munich Indoors equestrian event, held at the Olympiahalle, is the finale of the nationwide Riders Tour. On Friday and Saturday a programme of additional activities includes fancy dress, crowd participation and interaction, plus good-humoured family fun.
